If you have never rented a dumpster, the process can feel like a contractor-only world. It is not. Most of our customers are homeowners doing it for the first time, and the whole thing works in four steps.
Step 1: Pick a size and book
Bins come in 10, 15, and 20-yard sizes. The number is cubic yards of volume: a 10-yard holds about three pickup-truck loads, and each size up adds roughly another load and a half. Our bin size guide matches sizes to real projects, and your local city page lists current prices, so you know the cost before you commit. Book online in a couple of minutes or call your local division.
Step 2: Delivery day
You do not need to be home. Clear the spot where you want the bin, and our driver places it exactly there with boards underneath to protect the driveway. Roll-off trucks need a bit of overhead room and space to back in, so mention low wires, trees, or a tight approach when you book.
Step 3: Load at your own pace
The standard rental is 5 days with 1 metric tonne of disposal included, and extensions are available when a project runs long. Load heavy items first and spread them across the floor, break down bulky pieces, and keep everything level with the rim. Wondering about a specific item? Our rundown of what can and cannot go in a rental bin covers the usual questions.
Step 4: Pickup
When you are done, we come back, hook up, and haul everything to licensed disposal. If you filled the bin faster than expected, call us for a swap: we bring an empty and take the full one on the same trip.
The questions first-timers ask
Do I need a permit? Not for your own driveway. A bin on a municipal street needs approval from your municipality, and we help you sort that out when it applies.
Will it wreck my driveway? Boards go under every bin, every time.
What if I pick the wrong size? Call us and describe the job before you book. We size bins all day and will tell you honestly, even when the answer is the cheaper one.
