Plenty of searches start with mini dumpster, 2-yard bin, or small dumpster rental. The instinct is right: not every job deserves a driveway-dominating container. Here is how the small end of the market actually works, and which option fits which job.
What people mean by a small dumpster
Three different products hide behind the phrase. Some searchers picture a compact roll-off for a modest cleanout. Some have seen the small lidded 2 to 4-yard containers behind businesses and want one temporarily. And some just have a pile: one room, one reno corner, one garden project. Each has a real answer.
Option 1: The 10-yard bin, the smallest roll-off
The 10-yard is the compact end of the roll-off world: about the footprint of a parked car at roughly 12 feet long, holding around three pickup-truck loads. It fits single parking spaces, suits kitchen tear-outs and single-room cleanouts, and is the honest choice for dense material like shingles or tile where weight bites before volume. Details and dimensions live in the bin size guide.
Option 2: The Bam Bag, smaller than any bin
Below the 10-yard, steel stops making sense and the Bam Bag takes over: a heavy-duty 1 tonne dumpster bag you buy at the counter, unfold where the work is, fill at your own pace, and call us to collect. No truck visit until pickup, no footprint beyond a pallet's worth of driveway, and it reaches spots a roll-off truck cannot, like behind the house or beside a downtown walk-up. For a closet renovation, a bathroom gut, or a stubborn corner of the garage, the bag is usually the right-sized answer.
Option 3: Lidded bins for businesses
If what you actually want is the small lidded container emptied on a schedule, that is ongoing commercial service rather than a rental: our commercial dumpster program places 10-yard lidded bins with businesses on term contracts with scheduled servicing.
The quick chooser
One room or less: Bam Bag. One big room to a small house phase: 10-yard bin. Business waste, weekly: commercial program. Still unsure? The size guide settles it, or call 1-888-771-2467 and describe the pile; small jobs get the same honest sizing as big ones.
